If we were really thinking of raising money for some
sort of fund to
fight Thomson and Frauhaufner the best thing to do
would be to find some
other patent that could apply to mp3 compression and
purchase it and
refuse to license it to them at any price. It might
even be a good idea
in general to set up a fund to buy patents and refuse
to license them
for use in proprietary software. I know I would
definitely make a large
donation to such a fund
