Thanks, i tried editing interfaces, and i put this in: auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp but when i reboot it still does the searching for the card and then it pings my router at home 192.168.123.254. i checked out ipstate, and it said eth0=eth1 but i have no eth1 insdtalled, could that be the case?? jule ps. if i put my card in any other PCI slot, my video card stops working and my monitor doesn't tuen on.
