Cnet CN40BC PCMCIA card problem

Hi,

I have Compag 100 notebook and Cnet CN40BC PCMCIA card
pcnet_cs and 8390 modules are loaded 
but there is a message:
pcnet_cs: unable to read hardware net address for io base 0x300


cardinfo shows this card OK

any help will be apreciated,
