Sylpheed is a nice email client. If you're happy with it, why switch? Is it lacking something you need? I use mutt rather than sylpheed primarily because I want a console-mode mail client. I often read mail over an ssh session from other locations, and forwarding X from a consumer-grade DSL site is much too slow. My wife, however, only reads mail at home, so she uses Sylpheed and is happy with it. > What I want to know, is when a person uses mutt for mail, what will he > or she tend to use for news? Probably another console-mode client. Slrn is the obvious candidate, I think, but there are others. I haven't actively read Usenet news since about 1995, so I'm not sure what's around these days.
