DVD-RW or CD-RW Recommendations

My CD-RW has started intermintantly producing noisy, scratchy audio 
cd's.  I assume this is a hardware problem (.wav files produced by 
cdparanoia sound fine when played by wavp but some recordings were noisy 
when burnt with cdrecord.) 


I would appreciate any recommendations of CD-RW's or DVD-RW which can 
also read and write CD's.
