I now have a 2.4.18 kernel running on my sid box, but I must have fouled up the xconfig part. I have keyboard sounds, but can't play audio cd's and I can't reach the internet. My CDROM is a MITSUMI IDE FX240S, and my network card is a Realtek RTL-8139 compiled as a module. However lsmod returns an empty list. If it helps, I found a file 8139too.o in lib/modules/2.4/18/kernel/drivers/net. Many thanks for any assistance!
