I have read _rumors_ (on Rage3D) that the 9700 will have Linux drivers. 
Oh, and the ATI rpm's were a royal PITA last time I tried them. IMHO, 
the best thing for r200 users would be to install XFree 4.2 and use the 
latest DRI drivers. If you want xvideo working, though, you'll have to 
get the CVS branch and patch it.
