I know in galeon, there are 'smart bookmarks'. You create a folder and
mark it with the 'Show as toolbar' item, then create your bookmarks. As
another poster mentioned, with the bookmarks, you specify the 'Smart
Url' with a %s, such as 'http://www.google.com/search=%s'. Then in the
toolbar where it shows the bookmarks it will put a text box next to
the icon for the bookmark.
I don't know if mozilla has a similar feature. But galeon is really
nice.
