Re: DSL problems

ifup did not get me to the gateway or show the gateway with the route -n command. I also couldnt get the NIC configured on boot because I had an improper line in the /etc/modules file. (BTW if I have 2 NICs how no you define which is eth0 and eth1, by order in the modules file?) when I got home I looked in my modules file and found the error. With the NIC coming up at boot I hope the resolv.conf and interfaces files will be read and do their magic.

No I didn't go to bed, I got thrown out of the school and barely had enough time to pack-up my stuff. I'll let you know tomorrow if it all worked. Thanks for your help up to now.

ifconfig won't show you a gateway entry.
The gateway entry will be shown using route.
As far as I have experience with networking it was sufficient to
just if[up,down] the NIC.

But when it works. And it seems so or he went to bed :)
