If the kernel says the modem's on ttyS04, then it is...sort of :) The
solution is to stop playing with setserial and do
cd /dev; ./MAKEDEV ttyS4
and then use the modem as /dev/ttyS4. I believe that type of modem
actually sets itself up on com5 in windows, which would be ttyS4 in
Linux.
Hmm, this is about the fifth time I've answered this question, I ought
to put up a mini-mini-howto :)
