Strange noatun and unrelated strange netbeans problem

Hi,

I'm experiencing a strange problem that I hope someone will be able to
assist with...

The first one is with noatun. Today it suddenly stopped working for my
main user on my laptop. What I get is the following:

unix_connect: can't connect to server
(unix:/tmp/mcop-alwyn/nevyn-0e61-3d60b693)
Launched ok, pid = 3723
unix_connect: can't connect to server
(unix:/tmp/mcop-alwyn/nevyn-0e61-3d60b693)
(The previous message was repeated 1 times.)
unix_connect: can't connect to server
(unix:/tmp/mcop-alwyn/nevyn-0e8b-3d60b6a0)
Launched ok, pid = 3726

along with the following in .xsession-errors:

There are already artsd objects registered, looking if they are
active...
DCOP aborting call from 'anonymous-3719' to 'noatun'
... cleaned 5 unused mcop global references.

Now if I change to a newly created user, noatun runs fine.

Another problem is with netbeans. The flash screen comes up and it
loads all components and then when it is supposed to go into the ide it
just sits there....

Again if I change to a newly created user, executing netbeans from the
directory of the not working user, it works like a charm...

Maybe these 2 problems are related, but I suspect it is a problem
specific to the files or configuration of the specific user.

Anyone point me in the right direction?
