He's a digest user, so he might be trying to unsubscribe from
debian-user as the list suggests.

Todd, if you're reading this, try sending a message to
debian-user-digest@request@lists.debian.org with a subject of
unsubscribe and a blank body.  If that doesn't work, right click one of
the messages, and view Properties (or similar), and there should be an
option to show full headers.  Cut and paste the headers section only,
and we might be able to help more.
