I just got a new motherboard (Abit KR7A) and I'd like to get software power-off working on it so that I can keep the physical machine tucked away somewhere. The manual makes no reference to APM at all, but it extensively mentions ACPI and its full compliance with it. I figured this was as good an excuse as any to upgrade to the 2.4.19 kernel so I recompiled with ACPI support, but I still can't do a software power-off. Should I try APM even though it's not specifically listed? _SHOULD_ ACPI be able to do a software power-off on the machine? TIA. -Alex
