Acrobat Reader is a Motif app, I believe, like "old" Netscape was. It
req'd an ugly hack in your ~/.Xdefaults file to get mouse scrolling to
work there. I imagine it may be similar for Acrobat.

Since this is Debian <g>, you'll likely be pointed away from Adobe's
client to something like 'xpdf', in which mouse scrolling works, or one
of the gtk/gnome or kde varieties.
