Re: problems with fvwm
Some Questions:
1) Did you install fvwm via a package, or download it
as a gz or something? If installed as a package, I'd
think all would be well, font-wise. I use fvwm95,
which is a package in Debian, and is nothing more than
fvwm with some settings making it look much like a
Windows 95 screen.
2) When you say you can start it from an xterm, what
are you doing exactly? Do you mean you open an xterm
while in another window manager, then start fvwm?
I don't use xdm, but I just log in on the non-x-window
screen, then type startx. My .xinitrc specifies
fvwm95 as my window manager. man startx gives an
example .xinitrc.
3) When sizing windows, are you using the -geometry
statement? I often use that for menu clicks to start
utilities I like. Something like:
xterm -geometry 800x400 -e joe, for example.
