Precisely. I have been running it for 3 years on a PIII-450 with
256MB. Perfectly acceptable performance. VMWare's original
recommendation IIRC was a P-120 with 128MB. I discovered it via a
student who informed me that, ignoring the above advice, he'd tried it
on a P-90 with 32MB. It worked, but was rather slow...
All of which leads one to ask: just what does one really need VMWare
for?
For me there were two answers: 1) I had (no longer deo gratias!) to
mark assignments in MS-Office 2) I think it may bbe a while before
anyone writes a *Canadian* tax package for linux, so once a year...
For everything else I do the linux solution is as good or better.
