woah! that looks like the problem i am having! i went to openoffice.org
earlier but it said I needed an account to browse the issues, and
I didn't want to create an account at the time. thanks a lot!! I worked
on this for probably at least 3 hours sofar. I even ordered 2 copies
of Staroffice 6 for SusE8 ($25) so i could (hopefully) bug SuSE directly
to get support on it.
i can't thank you enough!! this is great. now i can give my mom gnome
instead of kde, the gnome setup i have is really nice and easy to use,
I couldn't customize KDE enough to get it the way I wanted. and KDE3
at least has a real annoying thing when the desktop icons are turned
on, apps that write to the root window don't work, like xroach, xsnow,
xfishtank, xpenguins..all real fun programs(IMO). annoying to have
to turn off the desktop icons to get them to work. glad gnome will
still work for me!!
the weird thing is that sometimes staroffice loaded..first time I
installed it it worked fine the first few startups, then the next
day(or a few reboots later) it stopped. ...then a bit later it
was ok again..then it wasn't..then it was..then it wasn't then
i was about to give up until i read this!
thanks again!!!!!!!!
nate
