How does one configure the interfaces file to do the following? At boot assume this is a dhcp served connection but if not drop back to a static interface Also, currently the resolve.conf file is overwritten to reflect the dhcp served network and nameserver. However when I have to use a static address, I have to manually edit ths resolv.conf file from the last dhcp altered entry back to the static entry. Is there a workaround for this? thanks!
