You might want to try the list for Linux-on-Toshiba users, subscription
instructions for which may be found at

but I warn you it's not nearly so helpful and tolerant a list as this
one; nonetheless, there are some very knowledgable and helpful people
there.

And if your Tecra uses the opl3sa2 chipset (as many Toshiba laptops do,
but maybe not Tecras), let me know and I can tell you what I did to get
sound working on my Portege 3020CT.
