Re: what happened to java-compiler-dummy?

I'm setting up a debian development box for a friend, and I went to
install the latest jdk from sun. It's been a while, but I recall the
installation of a java-compiler-dummy to set up the package management
system to recognize sun's java tools. What happened to it?

On further inspection, I've noticed that java-virtual-machine-dummy is
not in unstable. Is it also on the way out?

Just go to www.blackdown.org. Blackdown sdk has javac from Sun and it's
packaged for Debian. If you wish, you may add this to /etc/apt/sources.list

deb ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/linux/devel/lang/java/blackdown.org/debian woody non-free

(this is one of the mirrors, but you can get others. See website)
