Once again, what functionality is being duplicated? The various daemons
serve very different purposes. Some are designed to be extremely secure,
and some are meant to be very lightweight for low-load servers. The Perl
and Python servers are particularly well-tailored to their specific needs,
namely providing ftpd abilities for programs written in those languages.
