Re: gdm not respawned in 3.0r0



Thanks so far,

I looked briefly in the logs suggested, and found nothing that account for X to console switching problems. 

However I have noticed, that mode switching, ctl-alt-(+/-),
behaves in similar fasion, i.e. display goes black. When I rearrange modes in XF86Config-4 by hand I got the resolution required.

Perhaps it is just not supported in v4.1.x of X.

Not sure, where to look further..
