Hi Paul,
	I initially had a problem getting apt-proxy to go too. The problem I had 
was that by default it uses rsync to connect to the apt sources (i.e. 
the defaults in its conf file). Rsync though is not a package dependency 
(you can use ftp or http instead, so it isn't exactly necessary) so all 
I needed to do was install rsync. This was not made obvious by any 
errors that I recall though, (maybe a log file that I missed), it just 
eventually occurred to me - after I couldn't find any other problems. 
Setup after this was reasonably straightforward with appropriate R-ing 
of TFM :)
