text install

Hello,

I am a long time debian user and I donate money every time I buy a cd.

I ran into a problem with a headless machine I built and tried to recover it
with an official 3.0 CD.  I was unable to use the cd due to the non pure text
install.  

The debian install is nice but I think we need the option of a pure text
install capability including a (documented) console on one or all serial ports
identified.

If this already exists please ignore this post and point me to the relevant
docs!
