Well, that describes a similar problem. I'm not seeing little squares, or
bar-codes instead of text I'm seeing NOTHING.

Still, I found /etc/gtk/ & found the file it was using, which strangely is
"gtkrc.ufs-8" - no "gtkrc.en_GB" is present - how do I build that? Do I need
it?
/etc/gtk/ has a lot of "junk" for locales I never use (like the ukraine),
but nothing for the one I'm in.

I edited that & narrowed the font down 'til there were only 2 choices &
still nothing, so I put it back in case I'd made something else worse. Using
xfontsel I couldn't find settings with only one choice, even when I
specified every field - Is my font setup terminally confused, or is this
normal?

Is there a way to force GTK+ to reconfigure itself from scratch?

What is a GTK theme? How do I set one?

Most annoying of all is that this used to work. I wish I knew what I've
done/upgraded to break it.

Matthew
