Re: Hi there
> Do you have any suggestions?
The last time I used the Debian installer, I had to boot the machine from the
installation CD, not just click an icon. Of course, this was on a Wintel
machine. I have never touched an Amiga, so I don't know what might be
different. If you computer is able to boot from a CD though, I'd suggest
trying that.
A couple of other things:
You're obviously new to the list, so I'll give you the skinny on some touchier
points of debian-user culture.
1) No HTML. Some of us use mail clients that doesn't deal well with HTML. It
also takes more bandwidth than is necessary.
2) Set up your email client to wrap the lines at 72 characters. That's kind
of a standard setting.
3) [This is important] Use INFORMATIVE subject lines. 'Hi there' tells us
nothing about the problem you're experiencing. Many faithful readers of this
list will delete the message out of hand. A much better subject line would be
something like: "Problems installing on an Amiga 1200". Then all of the Amiga
wonks out there will know to give your message a look.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. You might try reposting with a better
subject line and you'll probably get a better response.
Good luck!
