Trouble printing on Woody

I'm running 2.4.18 kernel and a woody box. I'm attempting to print to a
network printer with an identical printcap as on a potoato box on the same
network. lpq gives the following.

Printer: color914@coates 'lp1' (dest text@color914)
Queue: no printable jobs in queue
 Server: no server active
Status: job 'edwardsa@coates+881' error 'Mystery error from Send_job' at 12:26:31.634
Rank Owner/ID Class Job Files Size Time
error edwardsa@coates+881 A 881 ERROR: Mystery error from Send_job
Active connection from XXX.XXX.XX.XXX

XXX's are mine

I have looked at the status file in .var/spool/lpd/lp1/status.pr and

this is the job entry

waiting for subserver to exit at 2002-07-03-12:26:31.606 ## A=<NULL> number=0 process=10882

Now you might say 'Aha, the dolt doesn't have a file filter!' however, on the other machine I don't hvae one either and it works perfectly well.

Any help would be apprecitated.
