x-font-server and gnome2
As I have read that under XFree 4.x a fontserver is no longer needed for truetype support (and I'm on a standalone workstation) I tried to uninstall xfs-xtt and put the font-catalogue directly into the XF86Config-4 file, also checking the freetype module was loaded.
Now I can start X with blackbox but when I try to start gnome2 gnome-session crashes. Nevertheless gdm (2.2.5) runs without problems.
any clues why this is happening?
regards,
stefan
