Adboe Acrobat 5.05 Font problem

I installed the Acrobat reader packacge from adobe (it displays some PDFS 
that ghostview still has problems with - and converts them to postScript) but 
the fonts in the menu items are just blank squares. The PDFS render fine, and 
the fonts look great in the document window, its just the interface fonts. 
Any ideas? Does it use a font that only comes as an optional package?
