Adding a second network card

Hi,

I have a stupid problem: the box I am running has a ethernet card with the Via-Rhine chipset. No Problem.
Now added a realtek chipset card. Now how do I add the driver module?

Do I have to compile a new kernel? Is there a deb package I can simply reconfigure or install? Or do I have to get the driver source and build the module myself...?

I've done some research but I can't find the 'propper' debian way of doing this. Oh, its woody I'm running on that machine.

Thanks for any help!

Vinai
