I will assume you have your mail server set up since
you have not asked about it.  Just his "s" on your
keyboard then enter the To address at the bottom of
your terminal window.  Press enter then type the
subject in the same place.  Press enter and Mutt will
open your systems default terminal text editor.  It is
VI on my system. Type your mail.  Hit the escape key
then type ":wq" and press enter.  Now just type "y"
and your mail has been sent.
