Problem with kernel

Hello!

Time ago I compiled the 2.4.16 kernel version without any
problem, but some days ago I had to modify the configuration
and tried to recompile it. This is the output:

		(linking the kernel)...
		...
		-o vmlinux
                net/network.o(.text.lock+0x1678): undefined reference
to `local symbols in discarded section .text.exit'
		make: *** [vmlinux] Error 1

I have tried if it was a gcc version problem, but i don't
think so (version 2.95.4). I have untared the sources again
	but the same problem.

If I try to compile with default settings, it compiles !!??

Any idea why can't I compile what I could to?

	Thanks.
