All I can say about that price is OUCH! You can build this system from
parts for ~ $1000. Unless this is going to be used as a server of some
sort, I really don't think that setting up Potato for you is worth
$1500. But that's for you and your pocketbook to decide.

As for the hardware, it all looks good. I can't say that I have any
experience with Realtek ethernet boards, but I have NEVER had a single
problem with getting any of my 3com boards working under Debian. And
3com gives a lifetime warranty on all of their boards, so that may be
something to consider as well.
