	Did you remember to modify the top level Makefile (patches
 that may work included in /usr/doc/kernel-package/FLAVOUR.gz)? The
 --revision only affects the name of the kernel-image, and nothing on
 the file system. This limitation (the required patch) is what lead to
 the latter append-to-version feature (which needed the EXTRAVERSION
 var i the MAkefile to work).  FLAVOUR predates the EXTRAVERSION
 mechanism.
