I'm about 95% sure they're binary... as I said, though, I've never used
them since I usually download a tarball and unpack it when I want to
upgrade (mozilla installations from binary tarball are relatively
unobtrusive and can easily be installed into a user's home dir).

There is, of course, one way to find out for sure if they're binary ;-)
