Cox has already started serving their own IP's in some areas, including my
own (Hampton Roads) and has since around Jan 15. The longest I've left my
gateway running is about 48 hours and have had no lease problems at all. I
have also received the same IP each time I've logged on.

my /etc/dhclient.conf contains only the send host-name option uncommented.
