Re: X configuration problem

 Hi,
There seems to be a problem in my keyboard map when I try to install X on my Toshiba laptop.

I am installing woody and it creates the file
xf86config -v3 , if i run that it doesnt actually modify my xf86config file as the changes i make to the modes etc are not reflected in the file after reboot.
(fbset -s)

So i ran xf86config file and it gives me a warning before
setting up keyboard settings
XKB rules file in
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/rules/xfree86 not found

and there is nothing in this path and also in
/etc/X11/xkb/rules/

My default server is XF86_SVGA (/etc/X11/Xserver)
and my sources.list is as follows

deb http://ftp.lug.udel.edu/debian woody main contrib non-free
deb http://ftp.lug.udel.edu/debian-non-US woody non-US/main

I wonder what is going wrong. If someone thinks he can solve my problem i will mail my xf86config files as i dont want to
clutter the list with huge mails,
Thanks
Kapil
