I 2.4 kernels you can enable backward comta^H^Hpatability.. (whatever) -
by setting CONFIG_IP_NF_COMPAT_IPCHAINS (at least on 2.4.13).

I found that after a 'modprobe ipchains', my "old" firewall scripts
worked flawlessly.
