uniprint for usb printer

From www.linux-usb.org I learned that I must send a string of control 
characters to my Epson StylusColor 860 to wake it up in usb mode and 
that this can successfully be done with uniprint 
-dupBeginPageCommand="<00 00 00 1b01 ....

All very well but I can't find the uniprint referred to.  Its not in 
potato's stable packages, not in Linux applications.  A web search found 
www.uniprint.net but this is apparently only for that other operating? 
system.

I would appreciate any clues as to where to look
