INSTALL WOODY: some minor problems
Hello:
Recently, I have installed woody to a Windows98 system
by loading the normal linux kernel with "loadlin.exe".
But, there was some "busy" messages while installing the
Intel ethernet (eepro100) module. To overcome this problem;
I have reboot with the windows98 rescue disk.
Question: is there another way to reset the eepro100 module?
Unlike potato, PCMCIA was not uninstalled at the end of the
process. Therefore, "PCMCIA errors" occurs everytime I boot
it, even after removing the PCMCIA package.
Question: how to totally remove the PCMCIA package?
Somehow, the lpd (lprng) will not be installed automatically.
(I also tried apt-get --reinstall install lprng).
Question: how to set the lpd or how to put it into the /etc/rcX.d ?
Last, is there a way to eliminate the /var/log/ksymoops/XXXXX
error while booting (when the disk has not been mounted) ?
regards,
