AFAIK this is only an annoyance, LILO is just testing your BIOS for large 
disk support.  If those two functions return different numbers, then it has 
to do a little extra work.

As you said, it still works.  It is only a warning.  (dpkg is probably just 
smart enough to suppress the warning message.)
