If I only could get it to work. Installing ktalkd deinstalls talkd, 
but doesn't change /etc/inetd.conf.  Thus inetd can't find 
/etc/sbin/in.ntalkd as seen in daemon.log.  Changing /etc/inetd.conf 
so that it refers to /etc/sbin/kotalkd instead of /etc/sbin/in.talkd 
and /etc/sbin/ktalkd instead of /etc/sbin/in.ntalkd lead to a loop 
(?): the last of about 30 lines in daemon.log:

...
Aug 31 05:30:38 bulb ktalkd[27337]: connect from 192.168.1.1
Aug 31 05:30:38 bulb inetd[264]: /usr/sbin/tcpd: exit status 0x1
Aug 31 05:30:38 bulb ktalkd[27338]: connect from 192.168.1.1
Aug 31 05:30:38 bulb inetd[264]: /usr/sbin/tcpd: exit status 0x1
Aug 31 05:30:38 bulb inetd[264]: ntalk/udp server failing (looping), 
service terminated
