no. if you were to upgrade to that version of libc6 you'd no longer
be running potato, but rather woody or unstable. a workaround
may be to run a chroot'd woody, but that would take some work
i think(it might work..might not, never attempted it).
maybe you can get the source debs and recompile it..it may work
