I find that whenever xscreensaver is running, XFree86.0.log and
xdm.log fill up with lines like these (in fact, identical to these):
GetModeLine - scrn: 0 clock: 108000
GetModeLine - hdsp: 1280 hbeg: 1328 hend: 1440 httl: 1688
vdsp: 1024 vbeg: 1025 vend: 1028 vttl: 1066 flags: 5
These lines just accumulate, more and more until the /var partition is
full. I wouldn't worry about it if the logs could be rotated often
enough to prevent this from becoming a problem, but it only takes a
day or two for my 250M /var partition to fill up. Anyone know exactly
what is getting logged here and how I can turn it off?
Thanks.
