Apt-getable CD-ROMs
I just upgraded to Debian 2.2 and...
1. I'm trying to create backup CD's that I can scan into my
sources.list file just like the distribution set does. Does anyone
know or have a source of information for this?
2. What exactly does the path structure have to be in order
to make "any" cd apt-getable. I thought I had read on this list
somewhere that you needed a "dists" directory as the base but
I haven't been able to find anything else. I've tried man apt-get,
man apt-cdrom, and man apt.conf to no avail. I also tried looking
at the new maintainers guide on the Debian website but couldn't find
what I was looking for. Any suggestions?
3. I was using the old deb file:/cdrom pathToDebs/ in my sources.list
file but got this error when I ran apt-get update:
Err file: slink/backup/ Packages
File not found
Ign file: slink/backup/ Release
How would I get copies of those two files specific to the debs I have
on the cdrom? Is there some way to generate them? Perhaps
download? How would I know that I have the correct one (they
seem to contain info about the packages and their dependencies)?
btw, the cdrom was mounted, and /cdrom points to the correct device.
TIA,
Jesse
