A simple way to do it is:

After starting X, with GNOME/Wm running, just execute wmitime;
Drag the wmitime to Window Maker's launch bar (that with the stair and
circle). It will be "glued" to the bar;
Close/kill the wmitime. A launcher similar to the others will appear in
its place;
Right-click on the launcher and click on "Settings...". A window will
appear;
Mark the option "Start when Window Maker is started" and click on "OK".

That's it.
