I got O'Reilly's book with a supposed copy of 2.1, and it was a modified VA Linux kernel that completed crippled my sound and networking. All my problems went away when I got a stock kernel off the ftp site. I love O'Reilly's books in most cases, but that one sucked and the CD was false advertising. They really screwed that one up. Mike
