Undo all the damage you did by following the instructions in the
ISP-Hookup-HOWTO. The simpest way to do this is to reinstall ppp with
'apt-get install ppp' as root.
Run pppconfig as root. Answer the questions. When you are finished start
ppp with 'pon', stop it with 'poff', and monitor it with 'plog'.
