It's in non-free (i think) but get the latest and greatest (version 7.*)
ckermit for debian at the kermit site. I am using it right now. It is only
an executable so if you want man file and other support files you should
install the version 6 .deb also.
P.S. unlike version 6 - version 7 does not by default read the system-wide
initialization file.
