/ smallest as possible (100 : 200 Mb) **
/usr at least 1 Gb (better 2Gb)
/usr/local local program and data (it depends on you)
/var 1 Gb ( here go news and apt-get archives)
I suggest you the link:
/home -> /usr/local/home
** because if something goes wrong, you can start in 'linux single' and try
to repair all the rest...
